One-time Introductory Lessons — Chado Austin

One-time Introductory Lessons for ages 10-100, with Linda Mosley

A Taste of Tea is a one-time lesson offered to meet the teacher and find out more about about taking lessons. Linda will first give a short introduction to Chado, the Way of Tea and then present an informal tea ceremony where participants will be guided in the guest’s role for receiving a serving of matcha tea and a Japanese confection. Afterwards, you will have time to ask questions about the Beginner Lesson Series.

The lesson is conducted in Linda’s home tea room in central Austin where participants are seated on stools at a table, a style called ryurei 立礼. Class size is limited to six people.

Whisking Matcha Option: is hands-on activity that may be added to A Taste of Tea. Participants will learn how to prepare matcha tea properly with a bamboo whisk. There is a small additional fee for this option.
